Canada Changes to the invitation to apply (ITA) period under Express Entry now back to standard 60 days

As of 29-June-2021, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) have announced changes to the invitation to apply process (ITA). Now all Express Entry candidates who receive an invitation to apply (ITA) will again have only 60 calendar days to submit their complete application for permanent residence.

At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the invitation to apply period was temporarily increased to 90 days from the standard 60 days. This effectively means that you only have 60 calendar days from the day you receive an ITA to submit your complete permanent residence application.

Candidates who were invited to apply through Express Entry before June 29, 2021, will still have 90 days to submit their application for permanent residence.

Canada continues to welcome more permanent residents, as part of the multi-year immigration levels plan of the Government of Canada.
