Canadian Immigration Fraud. How to safeguard yourself.

Immigration fraud is real. In fact, many people fall prey to scams being pulled under the name of Canadian Immigration Authorities, rather successfully. Today we will take a look at how to safeguard yourself from being scammed in an Immigration fraud scheme.

Deal with a license RCIC (Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant)

Always deal with (RCIC) or licensed consultants in your Canadian Immigration matters. RCIC licenses can be verified by going to the ICCRC website and using the search feature. Here you can verify whether the RCIC is actually on the list or missing.

Your consultant encourages you to game the system

If your consultant is encouraging you to commit fraud on the Canadian Immigration system be careful, fraud is never a good idea, no matter how small it may be.

Your consultant does not officially appoint himself/herself as your authorized representative by submitting a form to IRCC

If your consultant is representing you on an immigration application and does not sign a form which declarer he/she is your authorized representative, then again you know you are in trouble.

100% Guarantee

If you find services of any consultants offering a 100% guarantee. That is a definite BIG red flag to do some more research on the program being offered and services. No program in the Canadian Immigration system can be 100% guaranteed.

Too good to be true!

If you find programs that sound too good to be true, then that’s another warning. For example, if you find you can migrate to Canada without any English language skills or educational qualifications / relevant to your experience, as you alone, think again. Canadian Immigration system is based on many factors these 2 being the most important. There are some sponsorship programs that do not need any of these, but it’s a good idea to do some research on your own or even take a second opinion.

High professional fees

If you notice you are being charged an extremely high fee for a too-good-to-be-true program and even being offered a 100% guarantee, then it’s time to find someone else.

We discussed a few of the warning signs to help you avoid immigration fraud.
